Eleanor C Stone

Eleanor Dafa Cofield Stone, 84, passed away April 26, 2018 in Jacksonville, FLa. Born in Mitchell, NC July 24, 1933, Eleanor was valedictorian of her graduating class at Smithdeal-Massey Business College in Richmond, Va. in 1952. While in college she met her husband of 49 years, Eldridge C. Stone (deceased) and the couple made their home in Jacksonville, Fla. Eleanor worked at Ring Power Corporation for over 42 years as Executive Administrative Assistant and Corporate Assistant Secretary, before retiring in 2005. She was also an active member of Executive Women's International (EWI), serving as president of the local chapter in 1969, and in several other leadership roles.

Eleanor was predeceased by her parents, husband Eldridge (Buck) Stone, and sister Arlevia Ann Cofield Howell; she is survived by her stepmother Annie Edwards, her many nieces and a nephew. She will be dearly missed by her many friends at Ring Power. We offer our gratitude to her long-term caregiver, Donna Johns, and the staff of Community Hospice for their compassionate care and dedication. Services will be held at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel, 4801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207 at 10:00 am on Tuesday, May 1, 2018, immediately followed by graveside interment at Oaklawn Cemetery.
