Dear Nanay,

I will always be ever so grateful for your loving kindness and example.  I will always hold all of those wonderful memories near and dear to my heart.  Words cannot describe what you meant to all of us.

Although these last few months were not easy for you, I am forever grateful to be able to spend each day with you to make sure that you were well. I am glad our Heavenly Father blessed us with such extra time together.

I pray that our Heavenly Father's choicest blessings be upon you always as you receive more of the fullness of his gospel.  May it guide you and bless you as we will surely meet again.

Dear Nanay,

Although I love and miss you very much, I know that you are in a better place in God's presence. Despite all the anxiety and sorrow, His grace gives me peace and comfort. 

I will always remember your great example of kindness, patience, and selfless service to our family and friends. Nanay was always the first to offer help to others in terms of monetary resources or food, without thinking about herself. 

She was a strong woman to have raised six children and seldom complained of pain or discomfort, especially during her last few months of hospitalization. When the doctors and nurses asked how she felt, she would always respond with a soft voice: "I'm okay." 

You will always be in my heart and I will cherish all those beautiful days and memories that we had together in this life. I know that "families can be together forever" through our Heavenly Father's plan. I know that you are with our loved ones now, until we meet again.

Good evening to everyone. I wish to Thank you all for being here today to show support for our family and also for paying your respect and praying for my late grandmother "Nanay Miling". I'm Oziel and I am one of the 14 grandchildren of Emiliano Remulla Legaspi, our Nanay miling. Nanay was born n raised in Tanzang Luma with 10 siblings. She met the love of her life in the bibingkahan area in cavite city, tatay thur. In the year 1988, they migrated to the states bringing with them their children and that's pretty much how the Legaspi clan started here in jax fl. 

Nanay was a very thoughtful and caring person, even before you step foot in their house she would always say "kumain ka na ba? Oh kain na" with a meal on the table waiting for you. She made sure that everyone got an equal share of what she cooked. She found joy in the simplest things, it was not hard to make her laugh. I will miss doing silly things just to make her laugh. I will miss her gentle guidance and wisdom she imparted to us. She had so much life experience, she lived a full life.

During her stay in the rehab facility where I work, every morning I went to work, I stopped by her room and greeted her good morning, seeing a familiar face, she smiled at me. I asked her "okay lang Kayo Nanay?" And she responded with a soft whisper, "okay lang" and every time it made my day. She will always be an inspiration to me because even until the end she never wanted us to worry, she wanted us to know that she is "okay Lang."

Every time I go to their house I will remember the presence of her walking up to me with Her warm smile and an open arm. She will truly be missed but I know her loving memories will stay with us forever. You will always be in our hearts Nanay, we love you!

I was extremely blessed to have my grandmother in my life since my infancy in Guam because of her selfless love and sacrifice to care for my siblings and me.
