Florence Jane Hattaway

Florence Jane Cooey Hattaway was born October 31, 1940 in Akron, OH to the late Luther Cooey and Bessie Cooey Hattaway. She was raised in Akron, OH and resided in Sarasota, FL and Winter Haven, FL retiring from the City of Winter Haven before moving to Jacksonville, FL in 2005. Jane had a beautiful spirit and kindness about her, a devout faith and active in her church. She embodied the best qualities: unconditional love, strength of spirit, and an unending generosity that could be seen in her love for her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by Charles Ray Hattaway, her son Robert E. Hattaway, her sister Susan Moore and 2 brothers, Glen Cooey and Bruce Cooey. She is survived by 2 sons, William R. Hattaway of Auburndale, FL and David K. Hattaway of Maryville, TN and 3 daughters, Jill R. Davenport of Sarasota, FL, Joy A Spurlock of Jacksonville, FL, and Rebekah S McCollum of Jacksonville, FL: many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Graveside service will be held Wednesday 8/14/24 1pm at Glen Abbey Memorial Gardens, Kersey Funeral Home, 2200 K-Ville Ave, Auburndale, FL 33823.

Memorial service will be held Saturday 8/17/24 11am at Christ’s Church Mandarin, 6045 Greenland Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32258.
