Frances Joyce Rogers, age 91, passed away on February 24 in Tifton, GA. Aunt Joyce is preceded in death by her husband David Byron Rogers, and her parents, Seaborn Eugene and Jackie Parker Taylor. She is survived by her cousin, who she loved and treated like a daughter, Lori Hancock (John) and their children: Guy (Michaela), James, Sara Ruth, Jarrett, Grace, Ben (Heyward) and their son Johnny; cousins, Kynnette James (Earl) of Fitzgerald, GA; Elder Jay James (Beth) and family of Fitzgerald, GA; Deron James (Laura) and family of Ocilla, GA; Dona Lord (Bob) and family of Fitzgerald, GA; Dorothy Kinnebrew of Dunnellon, FL and Ric Bethea (Linda) of West Union, SC.
Joyce lived most of her life in Jacksonville, FL. She lived out her last years in south GA to be close to her family. She was a member of Riverside Primitive Baptist Church in Jacksonville. Joyce volunteered her time to help the literacy program, guardian ad litem, and the Omaha, Nebraska Children’s Home. She was a wonderfully unique person whose zest for life and childlike faith was a blessing to all who knew her.
A graveside service will be held for Aunt Joyce on Wednesday, February 28 at 11am at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
