Gene was born in Jacksonville in February of 1956 and grew up in the Spring Glen area. He was predeceased by his mother, Mary Carter.
Gene had a career as a pipe layer foreman for over twenty years with United Brothers Development and later DNS Contracting. He took pride in his work and worked hard to make sure the job was done well.
He enjoyed fishing in his spare time. He was also an avid fan of Nascar, racing, and motor sports.
Gene is survived by his wife of 16 years, Ellie Tomlin, his son, Shawn, his sister, Tina Seal, his step children, Joe, Vince, Johnny, Karen, and Denise, and his father, Julian Gene Tomlin Sr. He also leaves to cherish his memory his grandchildren, Tyler, Tiffany, Stephanie, Krystal, C.J., Ashley, and Cheryl, and his great – grandchildren, Eva, Gracelyn, Sidney, and Siryn. Gene was loved very dearly by his family and friends. His memory will stay forever in our hearts.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm Saturday December 16, 2017 at Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32207.
