

A life long resident of Jacksonville, she graduated from Landon High School in 1951, where she was a member of the Marching Lionettes and a Band Majorette. She was active in many school activities, including school government. Genny also graduated from Jacksonville University “cum laud” in 1972. She taught History, Civics and Philosophy at the high school level for years.
She married her high school sweetheart in 1951. As a couple, they valued their children and family above all else in this world.
Genny was interested in politics and actively participated in the Republican Women’s Club in Duval County, where she held numerous officer positions and later became President of the club for several terms. She was very involved in the Florida Federation of Republican Women, where she became Membership Chairman and Resolutions Chairman for the State Republican Party. She considered her marriage and children her greatest accomplishments in life. She hoped that her life as a mother and a teacher of young people had instilled good values and moral ethics.
She is survived by her children, Sherry Lyford (Mitch), John E. Sikes, III (Kristi), Charlene True (Keith), Laurie Mullarkey (Patrick). She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Michelle Binkowski (Matthew), Chad Mullarkey (Halie), Justin True (Leah), Kelly Mullarkey, Dusty Sikes, and Garret True. In addition, she is survived by four great grandchildren, Sam and Genevieve Binkowski, MaryChase Mullarkey and Kinsley True.
A memorial service will be held at Oaklawn Cemetery at 4801 San Jose Boulevard on Saturday, February 11th at 4pm. In Lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to Community Hospice of Jacksonville.
