George William Bekert III, 74, passed away January 24, 2017. He was born in Queens, New York on November 17, 1942, to the late George W. Bekert Jr. and Catherine Bekert. He moved to Jacksonville, FL in 1980 from Okinawa, Japan. George is retired Navy and a member of SGI-USA. He is predeceased by his wife, Nae Bekert and brother, Robert Bekert. He is survived by his daughter, Catherine Waters; grandchildren, Monica Waters, Jasmin McCord and Amya McCord; great grandchildren, London Beavers; sister, Judy Valentine; and many nieces and nephews. The Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, February 4, 2017 in SGI Jacksonville Buddhist Center, 5730 Bowden Rd. Ste. 105, Jacksonville, FL 32216.
