

George was born on March 14, 1935, in Richmond Hill, NY, and grew up in the Woodside neighborhood of Queens. He proudly served as a pilot in the US Air Force and US Coast Guard, and retired with the rank of Lieutenant Commander. He dedicated his life to his country with honor and valor.
A University of Maryland graduate, George excelled in careers as a military officer, Airline Pilot/Captain/Instructor, entrepreneur, and tax preparer.
A devout Catholic, George found solace and community in his places of worship.
A true family man, George is survived by his beloved wife Grace, daughters Denise (Paul) and Kristin, sons Rick (Karen) and George, Jr. (Imelda), 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He cherished his family above all else.
George's hobbies included being a devoted NY Giants and Yankees fan. His love for sports brought joy to his life.
George will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
Arrangements are being handled by Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, located at 11801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests gifts in George's name to Community Hospice and Palliative Care in Jacksonville, FL.
A visitation for George will be held Thursday, June 20, 2024 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm, with military honors and prayers at 4:00pm. A funeral mass will be held Friday, June 21, 2024 at 11:00am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 9800 Baymeadows Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
