Gladys Redmon Whaley

Gladys Redmon Whaley, 77, of Saint Johns, FL, passed away on September 17, 2011 at River Garden Hebrew Home. She was born on May 13, 1934 in Wartburg, TN to the late Perry and Winnie (Newberry) Redmon. Gladys was a Homemaker, and a member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Wartburg. She moved to Florida in 2002, coming from Wartburg. She loved and cherished the time spent with her children and family. Gladys is survived by her son, Darrell Whaley (Reda) of Atlanta, GA; her 4 daughters, Shirley Thacker (Tom) of Saint Johns, FL; Charlene Hammond (Tim) of Powell, TN; Tina Mann (Keith) of Pace, FL; and Kathy Sitzmann (Major Chad Sitzmann) of Travis AFB, CA; her 15 grandchildren, James, Derrall, and DeLayla Whaley, Jenna Haunty (Matt), Crey Thacker, Dr. Sarah Hammond (Cory Hounschell), Aarin Lowe (Chris), Kali, Kacie, and Jordan Mann, Caleb Hammond, Anna Crozier (Nick), and Jasilyn, Jadyn, and Gracie Sitzmann; and her 3 great-grandchildren, Claire, Nathan, and Mira Haunty. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at 3:00 pm in the Liberty Baptist Church, Wartburg, TN, with visitation from 1:00 pm until the 3:00 pm service time. Burial will follow the service at the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.
