Born in St. Albans, Vermont on March 30, 1919, she spent her childhood and early adult years in Vermont. While there she met her husband Robert Tittemore. They were married in Burlington in March of 1940 and resided there before relocating to Malden, MA. They later moved to Mineola, NY, where Robert and Hazel raised their three children and lived happily for nearly thirty years.
In the early 1970s, Robert’s work moved them to Jacksonville, Florida. Over the next five decades of her life, Hazel was active with the Arlington Presbyterian Church, Jacksonville Public Library, and several community volunteer endeavors. She especially loved reading, gardening, spending time with family and friends, and taking occasional trips to the beach.
Hazel was predeceased by her husband, Robert Tittemore and her second son Garry Tittemore. She is survived by two children: Robert Tittemore (and wife Mary) of Mahopac, NY and Joanne Tomkovitch (and husband John) of Green Cove Springs, FL and Daughter in Law Carol Tittemore of Vienna, VA. She leaves behind six grandchildren: Laura Piechota (and husband, Edward), Sharon Suppa (and husband Michael), Gordon TIllmore (and wife Kelly), Karen Bruce (and husband Jonathan), Scott Tomkovitch, and Jonathan Tomkovitch. She also leaves behind seven great-grandchildren: Jenna and Ryan Piechota, Andrew and Christopher Suppa, Zoë and Alyza Bruce, and Paul Tillmore and many other family members and dear friends who will all sadly miss her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to ARLINGTON PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH at 1351 Sprinkle Drive, Jacksonville, FL 32211.
