to Mary Kate (Bray) and George Monoxelos. She and her sister Katherine grew up in Columbus, GA.
She graduated from the University of Georgia. Before marriage, Helen was a dedicated elementary school
teacher. In 1951 she married the love of her life, Lamar Dean, and moved to Jacksonville, FL.
She loved spending time with family, horseback riding, boating, playing golf and gin rummy with her many friends. After her daughter, Lisa, was paralyzed in a tragic car accident, Helen spent 35 years dedicated to her loving care. When her son, George, became ill with cancer, her devotion was unwavering. Helen was
a lifetime member of San Jose Episcopal Church. Her faith was her strength.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Lamar, and their children, Lisa and George. She is survived by her grandchildren, Lauren and George, Jr., great granddaughter, Kali, nieces Kay (Tom), Alicia (Ray), Helena (Jim), and her godson, Mark Dean Taylor (Ginny). Thank you to Nicole Burke for her loving care of Helen. Services will be held at San Jose Episcopal Church on Sunday, August 8th at 2:00.
