Helen Ann Schafer, age 61, passed away on July 2, 2016 in Jacksonville, Florida. She was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on February 14, 1955 to John and Helen Schroeder. She has been a resident of Jacksonville for the past 6 years. Prior to retirement she worked as a Nursing Assistant for may years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Regis J. Schafer.
Ms. Schafer was survived by one son, Christopher Schroeder of St. Johns, FL. A daughter, Heather Hoffield of Jacksonville, FL and a brother Charles Schroeder also of Jacksonville, FL. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Christopher Jr., D’Andre’, Jontel, Janetta, Marcailles, and Mar’Quyse.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 15, 2016 at 4:00 PM at the Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home, 4300 Beach Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32207. A reception to celebrate her life will immediately follow.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery.
