Homer B. Moyer

Homer B. Moyer, 94, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2011. He was born on January 6, 1917 in Thorn Hill, Tennessee to John and Minnie Moyer. Homer served in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII and worked at the Naval Air Re-Work Facility in Jacksonville, FL until he retired. He was Elder Emeritus at Murray Hill Presbyterian Church where he was a long time member . Homer is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Jean Moyer. He is survived by his daughter, Sharon Kerchner (Donald) Connecticut; his son, John R. Moyer (Carol) of Jacksonville, FL; 3 grandchildren, Julie Morris (Edward), Courtney Pilkenton (Drew) and Jason Moyer; 2 great-grandchildren, Skyler and Zoe Morris; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family visitation will be held from 5:00pm until 7:00pm, Friday, May 20, 2011 at Hardage-Giddens Edgewood Funeral Home, 729 S. Edgewood Ave., Jacksonville, FL, 32205. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Murray Hill Presbyterian Church, 940 Talbot Ave., Jacksonville, FL 32205 with Rev. Andrew S. Marshall, Sr., officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers you may send memorials to Murray Hill Presbyterian Church.
