Honesto G. Torio

Honesto Gamurot Torio, 73, of Jacksonville, FL, died August 3, 2014, at Community Hospice St. Vincent's Riverside. He was born January 28, 1941, in Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines, the son of Florentino and late Cresencia. He was the husband of Lourdes Navarrete. He served in United States Navy for 23 years and retired as a Chief Petty Officer. After his retirement, he worked for the US Postal Service for 10 years. He is survived by his wife, daughters, CoraLynn and Christine; sons-in-law, Greg Roberts and Patrick Baterna; grandchildren, Jason, Matthew, Dalton, and Autumn; his father and his wife, Leticia; siblings, Honorato, Guadencio, Edralin Daligdig, Danilo, and Rosito, and their wives, husband, children, and grandchildren. The viewing will be held on Thursday, August 7, 5:30 - 8:00 pm, at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 5753 Blanding Blvd, with prayer service at 6:00 pm. Funeral Mass, officiated by Msgr. Simon Peter Ignacio, will be held on Friday, August 8, 10:00 am, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5752 Blanding Blvd. Interment at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd, 1:30 pm.
