
Howard J McCann, passed away on July 13, 2019 at the age of 74. Mr. McCann was born in New York City, New York to Howard J. McCann, Sr. and Muriel Sulzer McCann and grew up in Ronkonkoma, New York on Long Island.
He graduated from Seton Hall high school and Suffolk County Community College with a degree in Accounting. Mr. McCann’s 20+ year career in Finance for various corporations in the manufacturing industry led him to live in various cities in the United States including Patchogue, New York; Akron and Aurora, Ohio and internationally in Beirut, Lebanon. He left his corporate career as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer to pursue small business ownership in Florida when he purchased a cultured marble manufacturing company. Howard spent the last 30+ years as an entrepreneur and owner of a property management company and commercial vehicle delivery company. In his free time, Howard enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid golfer and sports fan.
Mr. McCann is predeceased by his parents, sister Patricia DeHesus and his beloved wife of 40 years, Marilyn McCann.
He is survived by his children Elizabeth Raynor-Huuska (Jukka) of St. Johns, FL; John McCann (Beth) of Tallahasse, FL; and Geraldine Nobbley (Shane) of Decatur, AL. He was Poppop to 1LT Joshua Raynor (Rachel) of Savannah, GA; Sarah Raynor of Charlotte, NC; Patrick and Connor McCann of Tallahassee, FL and Daniel and Emily Nobbley of Decatur, AL. Howard is also survived by his sisters Barbara Poupard (Dick) and Diane Hannan (Jim) of Phoenix, AZ; Ellen Carruthers (David) of Riverview, FL and his brothers Tim (Kathy) of Bradenton, FL and Tom (Karen) of Acworth, GA and a host of extended family.
Visitation will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, July 19th in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 20th in San Juan Del Rio Catholic Church, 1718 State Road 13. Saint Johns, FL., with Rev. Dilip C. Pally as Celebrant.
