

He was preceded in death by his mother Eva Dittman and father Abraham Dittman and brother Alan Banks.
Jack was a devoted husband of 70 years to his beloved wife Anita and devoted father to daughters, Elaine Mack (Richard) and Arlene Dittman Schwartz (Gary), grandchildren; Erica, (Mark) Gottlieb, Lauren (Travis) Devine, Eric (Tara) Schwartz, Adam (Julie) Schwartz, great grandchildren, Issac Schwartz, Blake Schwartz. Jack is also survived by his brother Morris Dittman and wife Janet.
Jack served in the US Army during WWII in the Medical Division and later became an accomplished businessman operating 2 retail stores in downtown Jacksonville in the early 60’s. Additionally he became instrumental in pioneering the development of commerce in the Cayman Islands through the pursuit of various enterprises. Over the years he developed a great affection for Grand Cayman and its people. He was loved and respected by all he met and was always offering his good will and wonderful sense of humor to all.
Jack was a proud 32nd Shriner and participated in its Oriental Band. He was a beloved, wonderful man who will be missed and forever cherished by many.
The funeral service will be Friday, August 10, 2012 at 12:00 pm at graveside in New Center Cemetery, 43rd and Liberty St., Jacksonville (inside Evergreen Cemetery).
Memorials in his name may be directed to Hospice of NE FL., River Garden or the Jacksonville Jewish Center.
