He was born in Mentor, Ohio, son of MaryEllen Crawford Spohn and James C. Crawford. A 1977 graduate of Mentor High School he went on to study Journalism and graduated from West Liberty State College in 1981.
Jim is survived by his children Danny and Lindsey Crawford; mother MaryEllen Spohn, brother Patrick Crawford, sisters Kelly(Jeff) Rosenblatt and Karen(Kurt) Treu.
Pre-deceased family members are infant sister Kathleen Mary, father James Crawford, stepfather Richard Spohn, Stepmother Monteen Crawford and sister in law Veronica Crawford.
Jim will be deeply missed by dear friend DeeDee Gill, aunts, uncles, cousins , nieces, nephews and friends who hold fond memories of him.
Jim was an avid reader, a huge Cleveland Browns fan, and cheered the Ohio State and UGA teams. He loved the ocean and his dog Dixie. He was always eager to hear about our lives and know we were happy.
A private family service will be held in Atlanta.
In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association to honor past loved family members.
