BRANTLEY—James “John Earl” Brantley, Sr., 82, passed away Sunday, May 16, 2010. Mr. Brantley, a native of Jennings, FL was a veteran of the US Army and was a truck driver. He was predeceased by his wife, Alma Corrine Brantley, in 2008 and a son, James Earl Brantley, Jr., in 1986. He was a special man to all who knew him. He was Daddy and “Great-Papa” to all his family including: his daughters, Sarah (Rusty) Smith and Sue Roberson; his son, Randy Brantley; his sister, Patricia Chamberlain; his brother, Donald J. Brantley; 11 grandchildren: Penny(Jeff) Godbee, Cheryl(Marty) Creel, Timothy(Caren) Averill, Paula(Patrick) Barker, Karla(Danny) LaForge, Clint Smith, Shiree(Jeff) Floyd, Bridgette(Alan) Purvis, James Brantley, Jessica(Mike) Moken and Heather Brantley; and countless great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 1426 Rowe Ave. Wednesday, May 19 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Graveside services will be held Thursday, May 20 at 11:00 AM at Holly Hill Memorial Park in Middleburg.
