REEVES- James Dewey "Jim" Reeves, 81, died Saturday, February 4, 2012 at his home in Jacksonville, FL as a result of a long battle with heart problems. His family was by his side. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Mary Reeves of Carrollton, GA. and brothers, Jerry and Smitty Reeves. He was married for 55 years to Shelby Musick Reeves and they had two sons, Jay (Michelle), Gainesville, FL and John Reeves of Jacksonville, Florida. Mr. Reeves had a long career in aviation having instructed for the Air Force in Bainbridge, GA and the Army in Mineral Wells, Texas. He retired from the Federal Aviation Administration in Jacksonville, FL as a General Aviation Operations Inspector. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 8th in the Arlington Congregational Church with Dr. Bruce Havens officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Carroll County, GA at a later date.
