James Marco Rooney (Jimmy), 64, passed away Monday, July 24, 2023. Following in his father's footsteps, Jimmy was a land surveyor his entire life. He loved all things Mopar and took every chance he could to go to the races. Everyone who knew Jimmy, knew how much he loved his dogs and his cars, he will be greatly missed. Jimmy was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Rooney, his parents, John and Ann Muriel Rooney, and his brother, John Rooney, Jr. (Jackie). Survivors include two daughters, Jamie Rooney (Matthew Perry) and Amy Rooney (Billie); one son, James Rooney, II (Bubba); seven grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Lowry (Rick) and Katherine Burnett (Russell), two brothers, Paul Rooney (Allie) and Patrick Rooney (Christy), and many nieces and nephews, and other loving family and friends.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, August 18, 2023 at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 8523 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, with Fr. Adam Izbicki, Celebrant. Arrangements by: Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 1426 Rowe Avenue.
