James Stelts was born Feb. 3, 1923 in Jacksonville, FL. He graduated from Landon High School in 1941. He joined the Army in 1942 and served as sergeant Squad Leader. He served 3 years in the Philippines and was discharged from the Army Hospital, Atlanta Georgia as a Disabled Veteran in 1946. Afterwards, he was manager of an insurance adjuster company and then joined Ryder Trucking Company, where he worked for 13 years. He retired from Ryder/PIE in 1985. Jim was a member of San Juan Del Rio Catholic Church and had served as Grand Knight of Bishop Kenny Knights of Columbus. Jim is preceded in death by his son, James Royal, Jr., first wife, Geraldine, daughter, Donna Days, son-in-law, Leonard Days. He is survived by his wife, Aline Pike Stelts, grandsons, Randall Days and Allan Days, stepdaughters, Susan Pike and stepson, David Pike.
