Jason Edward Harran, born on May 4, 1948 in New London, Connecticut passed away peacefully at the age of 70 on April 6, 2019 in Jacksonville, Florida, where he had resided since 1980. Jason was a Vietnam veteran, proudly serving in the U.S. Navy for 20 plus years earning several awards and commendations before retiring at the rank of Command Master Chief. After retirement he became a starter at Marsh Landing Country Club which helped him pass the time. He then became a manager at Merrill Lynch Credit Corporation. A short stint with the IRS. Finally ending in job where he did background checks on individuals needing various security clearances before finally retiring again. He later helped out part time working at Tobacco Cove West where he enjoyed the odd cigar or two. Jason was an avid golfer and could easily be found hovering around the links at Naval Air Station Jacksonville.
Jason was preceded in death by his father, Arthur, his mother, Dorothy and his brother, James. He is survived by many family members and friends including his wife Rena, his three children, Kelley, Patrick, and Kevin, his grandchildren, Bryson and Morgan and his brothers, Jerry and John.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at a later date to be set at Jacksonville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the MDS Foundation.
