Jeanne Ann Maurer Harris, of Jacksonville, FL passed away on Monday, March 18, 2014 at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. She was 76. She was born on May 13, 1937 in St. Augustine, FL and attended Bishop Kenny High School and Jacksonville University. She is survived by her four children Jeannette, Rick, Teri and Diane; three sons-in-law Paul, Kenny and Adrian; two brothers, Jack and Ted; and nine grandchildren Tyler, Alex, Noah, Logan, Riley, Ryder, Hayden, Holly and Harper and numerous nieces and nephews whom loved dearly. Jeanne worked as a public relations professional and has been retired for the past 15 years. A unique person, and an avid Gator fan, with a beautiful spirit and a caring heart, Jeanne was the first to help those less fortunate and adopted animals in need. She will be greatly missed by those at the Jacksonville beaches where she lived for more than 15 years. Funeral services will be held at eleven o’clock in the morning on Friday, March 21, 2014 at The Oaklawn Chapel. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Jeanne’s name to the Friends of Jacksonville Animals.
