My fondest memory of Uncle Jimmie will be his love for his family! We had some great summer visits a few vacations where Uncle Jimmie and Aunt Judy opened their doors for the family from NY to visit. Even if it was the 5 of us. My mom and the 4 girls. Best of time playing card games when we got older and going out to lunch or breakfast at Waffle House! I knew visiting Uncle Jimmie and Aunt Judy in my youth I wanted to live in Florida and now I do! Thanks to them inspiring me!
Love this couple and now they are together again! We will always miss these two sweet love birds!

Uncle Jim was the epitome of a southern gentleman. He was consistent and unwavering in his love for his family. I admired the man, husband and father he was. Uncle Jim was always approachable, calm, and loving.  Given his extensive naval career, I was always so impressed with how gentle, kind, patient and caring he was. 

My grandparents, Carol and John, passed away more than 10 years ago, and Judy and Jim were the grandparent figures in my life for most of my adulthood. Aunt Judy and Uncle Jim spent much time with my grandparents that they felt like home to me. When I moved near the east coast of Florida in ~2014, and was able to spend more time with the Strickland family, Uncle Jim and Aunt Judy welcomed me to their home and family with open arms, which I will be forever grateful for.  Their door was always open to me, my family and anyone else at anytime. I am so blessed to have been able to grow my relationship with them since moving to Florida, and I am grateful they welcomed me into the Strickland family.

Uncle Jim was a one in a million guy, who I am so blessed to have had in my life. I will always keep the memories of him and Aunt Judy close to my heart <3

Two wonderful people are with the Lord and together again… they came to NY so many times and we had fabulous times together!

Hello Dad, it's Jeff ( Yes the baby). I wanted to check in and tell you how much I miss you. I've  held and grand respect and love for you my whole life, you are the strongest Man I know, Just ask anybody, if you have ever doubted that. You have, in turn held me close as your youngest son and always protected me from harm and provided a foundation built on a rock of discipline and love. Dad the memory I will hold dear is your thanking me for being there the past few months and carring for your needs. I am and always will be honored to call you Father. I will hold your memory as firmly, yet gently, as I held your wonderful face as you left us to be with your beautiful bride. Tell Mom we love here daily and as always, please tell Jesus thank you from all of us down here. We eagerly await his return and do know it is soon.

Jimmie was so awesome! I just loved him. He was a strong man but a teddy bear because you could see and feel that soft heart of his as well. I can't leave out the fact that he had some good "dad jokes" too...he he...We will miss Jim terribly as much as we miss Judy.  My husband Richard put it so beautifully: "we look forward to a great reunion with them in Heaven with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!" Prayers and love go out to all of the family. Prayers for healing of broken hearts and peace in knowing that reunion is coming!

Jim was an incredibly great and strong man, a Retired Navy Chief and strong as they come. So glad to have had Jim and Judy in our family. They are sorely missed, and we look forward to a great reunion with them in Heaven with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Prayers for the family during this time of mourning.
