Jo Ellen Mobley

Jo Ellen Mobley, age 85, passed away peacefully at home on March 4, 2018, and is now in the arms of our loving Savior Jesus Christ. Jo was born on October 22, 1932 and was raised on a farm in Acworth, GA. Jo married Alan Mobley on August 18, 1951 in Powder Springs, GA and moved to Jacksonville, FL in 1957. Jo and Alan were blessed with three sons, David, Terry, and Bruce. Jo and Alan were early members of the Cedar Hills Baptist Church until they were led to St. Johns County to help start Fruit Cove Baptist Church located on State Road 13. Jo spent 35 years working at the University of North Florida where she thoroughly enjoyed working with students and staff. Jo and Alan enjoyed traveling throughout the United States as well as many countries around the world. Jo lived a very full life touching many with her caring, loving and encouraging heart. We have inner peace knowing that Jo is now home with Jesus and her grandson, James.

Jo is survived by her husband Alan of 66 years; her son David and wife Rhonda, her son Terry and wife Lynn, her son Bruce and wife Debbie; six grandchildren Pam (Derek), Rhett, Erica (Nick), Jennifer (JC), Brooke (Tom), Alayna; twelve great grandchildren Thomas, Taylor, Jacob, Payton, Deacon, Marc, Scarlett, Alexa, Bryson, Aiden, Camden and Carli; and her sister Ann Julian Qualls. Jo was predeceased by her grandson James Alan Mobley.

Viewing will begin at 10AM Wednesday March 7, 2018 followed by the Celebration of Life Service at 11AM at Fruit Cove Baptist Church, 501 SR 13 Saint Johns, FL. Jo will be laid to rest at the Jacksonville Memory Gardens in Orange Park.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to the Fruit Cove Baptist Church Building Fund.
