JoAnn DiGiandomenico

JoAnn DiGiandomenico, age 71, of Jacksonville, FL passed away peacefully on November 30, 2014. Born in Hilliard, FL, JoAnn was the daughter of the late Everett Lee and LeoNora Rhoden Lee. She was a resident of Jacksonville since childhood and has shared early memories of working in her parents’ country store. A proud graduate of Andrew Jackson High School, JoAnn loved to meet up with former classmates for monthly lunches, even during her last months of life. JoAnn was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She married Richard, her loving husband of 52 years, on June 23, 1962. JoAnn devoted much of her time over the years to volunteer work – serving in the local and state PTA. In 1987, she received the honor of being elected as President of the Florida PTA, and served in this capacity for two years. JoAnn continued her work as an advocate for children by working as a Consultant/Administrator for the Duval County Public Schools beginning in 1990 and retiring in 2005. JoAnn loved life and never turned down a chance to be with her grandchildren, her family or friends.

She is preceded in death by her siblings, Juanita, Charlene, Modean, Maggie, J.T. and Everett Jr. JoAnn is survived by her husband, Richard, daughter Laura Homsey (Dennis), daughter, Karen Putzke (Brian), three grandchildren, Lauren and Joey Homsey, and Kayla Putzke, sister, Ouida Sanders, and brother, Carl Edward Lee (LelaMae) and a host of loving cousins, nieces, nephews, step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 2, 2014 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 4300 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207. Funeral services, followed by interment, will be held Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207. Family and friends are invited for fellowship and food in the Greenlawn Events Room, immediately following the interment.
