January 17, 1964 – April 14, 2020
John Joseph Crowe, 56, passed away in Saint Johns, FL, after a bravely fought, month-long battle with Covid-19.
John was a dedicated employee at GPI Engineering Firm for many years. He built his successful career from the bottom, working his way up to become Assistant Vice President and Project Manager. He had a strong work ethic, showed integrity, and was well respected in the industry. He absolutely loved what he did.
John loved his family more than anything. Spending time with his wife and children was his greatest joy. There is nothing he would not do for them. He also found a passion for golf in recent years, and really enjoyed his Sunday morning golf game with his buddies. He enjoyed fishing, often taking his wife and daughter. Unfortunately for him, he spent most of the fishing trip putting bait on the hooks and removing fish for release since his girls were to scared to do it. Even though he barely had time to cast a line, I am sure he would not have changed those moments for anything. John was also a lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys, and Kentucky Wildcats.
John was predeceased by his father, Odell Crowe, and survived by his mother Norma Crowe. In addition to his mother John is survived by his wife Theresa Crowe, children Nicholas (Lesli) Heeney and Savannah Crowe, and grandchildren Anthony and baby Heeney arriving in June. Also survived by seven siblings: Robert Crowe, Jean Marie (Bruce) Smith, Daniel Crowe, James Crowe, Philip (Pamela) Crowe, William (Stella) Crowe, Peter (Josephine) Crowe, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and his in-laws, whom he had a close relationship with.
We want to thank the nurses, doctors, and staff at Baptist South ICU for the kindness and compassion they showed our family, and the tender care they gave John. They are angels on earth. They provided excellent care, and we will always be grateful.
There will be a Celebration of Life for John on Monday April 27th at 11:00 am. To abide by CDC recommendations, only his immediate family will attend. In lieu of flowers, if you can, please donate blood at your local Red Cross in John’s honor. He received two transfusions during his battle, and we were thankful for those donations.
