

DAMON John M. Damon, 86, passed away on Veteran s Day, November 11, 2012. He was born January 12, 1926 in Fitchburg, MA. A 20-year veteran of the U.S. Navy, he retired in 1964 before going to work for the U.S. Civil Service until 1986. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association, Branch 126. He is predeceased by first wife Ruth E. Damon and second wife Carita C. Damon, and a sister, Marion D. King. He is survived by three sons, Wayne, Duane and John, and three grandchildren, Jennifer, Drew and Sarah, and a niece, Linda K. McCormick. Also surviving are a stepson and stepdaughter Dan and Donna Goldsberry, their daughter Cara and a grandson, Clark James. He is also survived by a special friend Shirley Post. A gentle and generous man, he was a charter member of St. Andrew s Presbyterian Church, as well as a deacon and elder. He was honored as Man of the Year on Father s Day, 2009, the first such award given by that church. He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends. A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, November 16, 2012 at St. Andrew s Presbyterian Church, 6317 103rd Street, Jacksonville
