John Andrew Gray died at age 70, Wednesday August 19th 2015. Born August 31st 1944 in West Virginia, he relocated to Jacksonville Florida as a young child and became a lifelong resident. Johnny is a true American hero, having served his country as a member of the US Army during the Vietnam War in the 101st Airborne. This commission earned him the Vietnam Service, National Defense Service, Vietnam Campaign, Army Commendation, and Bronze Star medals. John “Hot Dog Johnny” worked at North Florida Lincoln Mercury Body Shop for over thirty years. It is there that he developed deeprooted friendships that he considered to be an extension of his family. His greatest accomplishments were his sons, Bobby, Jason, Little Johnny (deceased), Jamie, Sean. Johnny was an avid gardener, fisherman, and golfer. He enjoyed sharing his garden bounty, his war stories under the old oak tree, and his time; always finding a way to see the humor in life. He was loved by many and will be missed.
