KNOWLES - John McGraw Knowles, 88, passed away on Thursday April 1st, 2021 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born on August 22, 1932 in Jacksonville, FL to James Henry Knowles and Margaret McGraw Knowles. He attended local schools, and joined the U. S. Army after high school, where he served in Germany. After he was honorably discharged from the U. S. Army, he worked for the A & P Grocery Stores and retired from there after many years. John was a patriot and had a strong Christian faith. Burial will be in the Jacksonville National Cemetery, Jacksonville, FL, at a later date.
He was predeceased by his wife, Ralphine Joyce Knowles; his parents, Henry and Margaret Knowles; his brother, Jim Knowles; his sister and brother-in-law, Bill and Betty Long; and his nephew, David Long.
Survivors include his nephew, Keith Long, nieces Barbara Moore and Paula Rowland; and many other wonderful friends.
