Dr. John Lopez Roque, age 82, of Malaga, Spain and Jacksonville, Florida passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023. He was born January 21, 1941, in Malaga to Antonio and Luisa. Upon completing his medical degree in Seville in the late 60s, he came to the United States to continue his education and to begin his career. Starting in Baltimore, he then made his way to Tampa and ultimately to Jacksonville. Formally trained as an endocrinologist, he served as the Chief of Internal Medicine for University Hospital. He is pre-deceased by his wife Dora (1985). He is survived by two children, Anthony and Victor and two grandchildren, John and Nicholas (Anthony).
A memorial service for John will be held Monday, August 21, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel, 4801 SAN JOSE BLVD, JACKSONVILLE, FL 32207.
