John "Riley" Townsend

John “Riley” Townsend was born on September 3, 2003 and began his journey to be with God and the other angels on March 17, 2020. Riley was a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and uncle and he touched anyone blessed to meet him. Riley was always happy no matter what obstacles came before him and his smile would melt your heart. Without being able to say a word he taught us so much about love, patience, and kindness. His combination of toughness and gentleness will never be matched. Riley's most beloved this was being outdoors. Some of his favorites would be rides in the woods with his daddy and grandaddy or on anything where the wind blew hard through his hair. He clapped furiously with excitement and appreciation to show how much he enjoyed his long walks, swimming wherever he could, and other activities. Riley enjoyed cookouts and barbecues that included his two other favorite things, being surrounded by family and food. While he would eat just about anything he definitely loved his cheeseburgers. Riley is survived by mom Kim Mathys, dad Michael Townsend, half sister Braylin, stepmom Sabrina Townsend, stepsister Mckenzie, stepbrother Zach, grandparents Kym and Richard Townsend, and Barbara and Steve Mathys, aunt Tina Hendrix, and uncles Kyle and Kellyn Townsend (Katie). The love for our Bubba and Doodlebug will forever live on as he will be dearly missed.
