Joseph Christian “Joey” Wood, 47, passed away Monday, July 1, 2019. Mr. Wood was a native and lifelong resident of Jacksonville. He graduated from Englewood High School and was a painter by trade. Joey loved to fish and hang out with family and friends. He was also quite the talker, he could strike up a conversation with anyone and be ready to assist anybody that needed a helping hand, including strangers. Joey was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Wood and Dorothy Wiggins. Survivors include his wife, Michelle Homeszyn; two sons, Chase Wood and Christian Wood; five brothers, Tommie Keeling, Bobby Roberson, Zach Wood, Christian Wood and Bobby Wood; other loving family and friends. A memorial gathering will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, July 13, in the chapel of Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 1426 Rowe Avenue.
