

Josephine (Pina) Carrubba, age 87, went to her Heavenly Reward on December 31, 2025. She Peacefully passed away in the company of her loving daughters, Carmela (Lynda) Carrubba and Maria Carrubba-Jeter at The Community Hospice in The Baptist Medical Center, Jacksonville, FL.
Pina was born in Riesi, Province of Caltanisetta, Sicily on September, 15, 1938. She was a wonderful and caring daughter of the late Gaetano Carrubba and late Maria Gallo Carrubba. She and her family came to The United States in 1956 and lived in Jersey City, NJ until 2004. She worked as a seamstress for many years. Pina was married to the late Guy V. Carrubba (D. 2014) on October 19, 1957. Their 57 year marriage was a testament of their faithfulness and devotion. She gave birth to three wonderful children, Salvatore (D. 2015), Lynda and Maria who were the love of her life.
Pina was an active parishioner at Our Lady of Victory Church in Jersey City, NJ. She served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a member of The Legion of Mary. She was also President of the Third order of St. Francis for a few years. She spent countless hours volunteering to help the poor. Pina saw the Spirit of Jesus in all whom she met. She has touched many lives with her beautiful smile, her caring heart, and her delicious cooking.
Pina moved with her family to Palm Beach County, FL in 2004. She was an active member of St. Ignatius Cathedral. She continued to share her love for Christ with her family and friends through her many acts of kindness. In January 2019 she moved to Jacksonville, FL to be cared for by her daughter Maria and son-in-law Jim until her passing. She will be terribly missed by her cherished grandchildren: Francesca, Tano, Lucas, Giovanni and Michela. She is predeceased by her brother, Gaetano (Tom) Carrubba, survived by her brother, Danny Carrubba, and daughter-in-law, Mary Gross Carrubba.
The legacy that Pina leaves all those who had the honor of knowing her is that the love she shared with others was the same love she had for Christ.
