Judith Elaine Kean Jones of Jacksonville, Florida passed away unexpectedly on August 4th at 80 years of age. Judy was in very good physical condition, and her family and friends were stunned and greatly saddened by her sudden passing.
Born on February 10th, 1945, in Newark, New Jersey Judy and her family moved to Jacksonville in the early 1950’s. She is predeceased by one son, Charles Ervin Converse III, next to whom she will be buried, in accordance with her wishes. And she is survived by her loving husband Robert Jones; children Susan (Timothy), Kathleen (Edward), and Jesse, as well as grandchildren; Timothy Jr, Darien, Jeffrey Alexander, Gage, Zachary, and Emily; and one great-grandson, Wilder Allen.
She was also predeceased by her parents, Edward Patrick Kean and Regina Margeret (née Guilfoyle); a brother, Tommy; and survived by her sister Patricia (Samuel), their three children Danielle (Michael), Richard (Ludmila), and Gregory (Jennifer) as well great nieces and great nephews.
Judy retired from Mayo (formerly St Lukes) and she continued to work in Senior Care until she became very ill with Covid. Despite a very long period of unconsciousness in the hospital and against very long odds, she recovered, which speaks volumes to her internal strength and overall physical health.
Those who knew Judy, and there were many, know that she dearly adored the churches and a variety of support groups she attended over many years; and know that she had her own very personal relationship with God. In that respect we are happy that she is with Him. However, her passing has diminished a bright and caring light in the world, and she will be missed immeasurably.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 6PM to 8PM at Corey-Kerlin on Cesery. Services will be held on Monday at 10:30AM and burial, for those who wish to drive over, will be immediately following at Chapel Hills Cemetery on St. John’s Bluff, across from Craig Municipal Airport (no automobile procession).
