Karen Louise LeBlanc

Karen Louise Sorensen LeBlanc, 65, passed away on July 2, 2013. She was born on February 26, 1948 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Christian and Mary Sorensen Karen lived her entire life in the Jacksonville area attending Robert E. Lee High School (class of 1966) where she was a member of the National Honor Society; Asbury College (class of 1970) graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Education and the University of North Florida (class of 1976) where she received her Masters in Education. Karen taught elementary education for 32 years (5 years in Duval County and 27 years in Clay County). Karen loved reading and volunteered at the Jacksonville Public Library since her retirement in 2005. She is survived by her twin sister, Susan Emerick.

A Memorial Service for Karen will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at the Murray Hill United Methodist Church, 4101 College Street, Jacksonville, Florida.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Doctors’ Inlet Elementary School, an animal rescue group or the charity of your choice.
