Her caring presence will be greatly missed. It honored her to be a part of their lives.
My mom Katherine devoted her life to my dad and her family. My mom loved my Dad more than anything. She was truly devoted to him and was married close to 60 years. They set our standards high . We should all be blessed to have such a strong marriage. She was a wonderful mother, and grandmother . Our home growing up served as a gathering place for family and friends. Many happy times were created there. She was happy to be a central part of our lives. My mom was committed to her faith in Jesus, which was evident in her daily life. Her biggest gift was being a nurturer and she loved to feed people! She loved to cook Italian. My mom made the world’s best meatballs! Yes, she accomplished other things like fencing in HS, gardening and dancing. But her meatballs cannot be overstated!
My brothers and I were truly blessed to have such a loving mother. She loved us unconditionally and was proud of every one of us.
As we bid farewell to my mom in this life, let us carry forth her legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering faith. For our faith promises us that we will see each other again. (1 Thess. 4:14).
The family will receive friends on March 18th from 3pm-7pm at Hardage Gidden Funeral Home of Mandarin, 11801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville.
