Katherine P. Thomas

Katherine was born in Philadelphia PA ., October 27, 1916.

She is predeceased by her husband, James E Thomas Sr.; parents John and Bessie Powell, her brother David Powell, and sister Caroline Denney. Kay is survived by her son James E Thomas Jr.(Miriam), her daughter Evelyn Lammert (Bruce). Kay is further survived by her grandchildren; James C Thomas (Alli), John W Thomas (Laura), Amy T Ross (Jonathan), Carrie Lawson (David) , Kimberly Lammert, Craig Lammert, and eight great-grandchildren

While her first love was always her family, Kay also enjoyed quilting, often spending long hours with her work, as well as teaching others.

The family will receive friends at Hardage-Giddens Hendricks Chapel, from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, December 16, 2012. Graveside Services will be held at Oaklawn Cemetery located at 4801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville FL. on Monday, December 17, 2012 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Mike Reed and Pastor Terry R Gore officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida.
