Kathleen “Connie” Hynes, was born August 8, 1934, in New York City, NY. She was the youngest of 4 siblings born to Nellie and Patrick Nolan.
Connie was married to Robert Hynes for 28 years and raised five daughters, Kathleen, Sharon, Patricia, Mary, and Christine. She earned her RN degree over an 8-year period, taking one class at a time while raising her family. Connie was a faithful woman who studied her Bible and enjoyed “TV Church” on Friday evenings and vespers on Sunday afternoons. She was an avid tennis player, enjoyed line dancing and time with her family.
Connie went home to be with the Lord after several weeks in Hospice Care. She will be remembered as a loving and generous mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She was an amazing example of resiliency from her humble beginnings in foster care after her mother passed away to then raising 5 daughters while earning her college degree.
Connie is survived by four daughters, nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM on December 8, 2023, at Oaklawn Chapel & Cemetery, Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 4801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, Florida 32207
