

Lawrence Terrence Mallard was born on August 30, 1950, the fifth child of Wilson Mallard Sr. and Nora (Riley) Mallard. He attended Pine Grove Elementary School and graduated from Southern Normal High School in 1969, in Brewton, Alabama. Lawrence united with Second Saint Siloam Baptist Church at an early age in Brewton, Alabama.
Following graduation, Lawrence proudly served his country in the United States Army. Upon returning home from his military service, he met the love of his life, Betty Bell. They were united in marriage and shared 52 devoted years together.
During their marriage, Lawrence and Betty were blessed with four children: Tonya, Lawrence Jr., Michelle, and Stacey. Lawrence later relocated his family to Miami, Florida, where he established both his home and his career. He dedicated many years of service to National Car Rental, where he served as a Lead Service Agent until his retirement.
After retiring, Lawrence and Betty moved to Jacksonville, Florida, to be near family, along with their grandchildren, Jamaiya and Dejharye. After residing in Jacksonville for approximately ten years, Lawrence entered into eternal rest on December 22, 2025.
Lawrence is survived by his loving wife, Betty Mallard; his children, Lawrence Jr., Michelle, and Stacey; his siblings, Minnie Chambliss (Vallie), Randall Mallard (Tonya), and Maurice Mallard (Shantell); and 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Tonya; his grandson, Devontay; his brothers, Herman Mallard, Wilson Mallard Jr., and Raymond Mallard Sr.; and his sisters, Valjean Mallard and Claudette Mallard.
Lawrence will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, and his honorable service to his country. His legacy of love, commitment, and faithfulness will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A visitation will be held at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, located at 11801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32223, on January 5, 2026, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am.
The funeral service will follow at the same location from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.
A committal service will be conducted at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218, on January 5, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm.
