Leoma Doris Wallace

Leoma Doris Stevens Wallace (Lee), beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend peacefully passed away Sunday September 17, after a bout of dementia. She is survived by three sons, Terry, Jim (Sandy), Mike (Denise), grandchildren, Brian, Carrie, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Wilburn Leon Wallace, parents Sim and Grace Stevens.

Lee was born August 24, 1920 in Spur, Texas to Sim and Grace Stevens. She proudly served in the United States Navy where she met her husband, Wilburn Leon Wallace (1902-1961). Lee was a successful seamstress in Jacksonville, where she served clients until her late 80’s. Lee enjoyed traveling, fishing, and spending time with her family and grandkids.

A memorial service will be held at 10am on October 14, 2023, at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd. in Jacksonville. A graveside will take place immediately following the service at Arlington Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to North Florida Community Hospice in honor of Lee’s memory. The compassionate care she received from her hospice team was truly appreciated.
