Lide "Bud" Edmund Price

Price, Lide E. (Bud) passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 in Jacksonville, Florida. Bud was born in Nichols, South Carolina to J. E. Price and Laura Price (Turner). After growing up in south Carolina he joined the U.S. Air Force in 1959. During his tour of duty, he was stationed at Shephard Air Force Base Tx, Osan Air Force Base, Korea, and Otis Air Force Base Cape Cod, MA. While stationed at Otis on leave he met the love of his life, Janet Raposa. A Short time later she became Janet Price on July 15, 1961 and they started a family with a son, Russell and later a daughter, Tina. He was a devoted father, mentor and guardian to the family he loved. Later in life his son Russell and daughter-in-law Patricia Price (Wilson) were blessed with Lide's (VoVo) five beautiful grandchildren, Jennifer, Rachael, Elizabeth, Jessica and Leo; and his great grandchildren, Alexavier, Eddie, Emma, Kaylynn, Baylee, Allie, Colton, Aubree, Shyanne, Emiley and one arriving in October.

In his spare moments he enjoyed all the movies starring Audie Murphy and John Wayne. Lide also enjoyed gardening and reading. His favorite book was Herman the German by Gerhard Neumann who he worked with at General Electric Aircraft Engine Group.

He lived a long, fruitful, gratifying life. Always giving his time, mentorship, and experience to anyone in need. The military was his second family and he loved looking out for them in any way he could.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Resurrection Catholic Church, 3383 University Blvd. Jacksonville, FL.. 32277. Burial will take place at Jacksonville National Cemetery, with full military honors at a later date.
