Ret. Sergeant Major USMC Lloyd R. Cooper passed away on December 9, 2011. Randy was 97 years old, born May 23, 1914 in Jacksonville, FL. Beginning in 1937, Randy served his country in the Naval Reserves, Marine Corp Reserves, and active duty Marines until his retirement in 1972. He served two tours of duty in Japan and two tours in Vietnam as well as bases in Puerto Rico, Guantanamo Bay, and all across the US. Randy is survived by his son, Lloyd R. Cooper, Jr. (Bernice) and four daughters, Frances Louise Hunt (Dick), Sandra M. Kohl, Mary C. Malone, and Teresa A. Gaslin (Tom), 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and numerous other extended family members. His life will be celebrated at a family memorial service in January.
