

Lolita George, age 58, of Jacksonville, Florida gained her wings May 12, 2023 at 7:17pm, with her children by her side. She was born to Mitchell Patrick and Ophelia Jefferson, March 22, 1965 in Chicago, Illinois. Lolita graduated from Dusable High School in 1982. She married the love of her life, the late Brian George, April 9. 1983 in Chicago, Illinois before relocating to San Diego, California as a military wife in 1983 and eventually called Jacksonville, Florida home sweet home in 1991. Lolita will be lovingly remembered by her five children: Satin (Jamal), Velvet, Brian II, Cashmire (Joshua) and Prince. She is also survived by her mother, Ophelia, Siblings: Denise, Renee, Brigitte, Juanita and Marcus. Mother-in-law: Cynthia, seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, nieces, nephews, and countless children in faith through New Heaven Dominion Inc. Lolita was predeceased by her Father and loving husband, Brain. Lolita rededicated her life to Christ in 2002 and served in ministry over the years being a part of doing God's work. Late 2006, it was on her husband's heart to open a group home for troubled kids and families, creating a safe space for them to have a second chance in life. It wasn't until 2007, when Lolita aligned with Brain's vision after seeing a fish fall from the sky, Matthew 4:19 rose up in her spirit, which says. "And He saith unto them, Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men." Following God's path for her life and in partnership with her late husband, they vowed to become their own proverbial fishermen, teaching disenfranchised youths the life lessons necessary to grow and thrive in adulthood; thus New Heaven Dominion, a 501c3 non-profit was born. The vision to touch the lives of young people by giving them hope by providing and partnering with community organizations that will provide the resources necessary to develop character, integrity, respect, and trust; thus preparing them to successfully transition into society as productive and valuable adults. For 16 years, she has been the heart of the organization, leading weekly bible studies, praise dances, annual family vacations, and regular family gatherings. To know Lolita was to know faith, love, confidence, courage, loyalty, fashion, and forgiveness. It meant knowing that she would always have you back, be honest with how she felt and pray for and with you. She was the person you'd want fighting in your corner for and with you spiritually, emotionally, and mentally because she truly embodied dignity, resilience and tenacity. Lolita will be missed immensely and her legacy will live on forever. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. -Isaiah 41:10
A celebration of life for Lolita and affirmation of faith will take place Tuesday, May 30, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 11801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32223. Followed by a committal service from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218. Memorial donations may be made in the name of Lolita George to New Heaven Dominion, 12620 Beach Blvd, Suite 3-102, Jacksonville, Florida 32246.
