Louise May Hurst, 98, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2023, at her home in Jacksonville, Florida. She was born on September 26, 1925. She was a graduate of Lineville High School in Lineville, Alabama. She married her beloved husband, Jordan (J.B.) Hurst, on April 15, 1944 in Anniston, Alabama. They later relocated to Jacksonville, Florida, where they raised a family and spent 50 years together. She loved her family and was devoted to them. She took pride in her work at the May Cohens Department Store in the Regency Square Mall. She was also a proud member of Hogan Road Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Ocie Hull, her husband Jordan (J.B.) Hurst, her sisters Loree Archer and Linda Ray, and her brother Billy Hull. She is survived by sons Thomas Hurst and Michael K. Hurst; granddaughters Dawn Geisler and Melissa Kier (Kevin); grandson Michael J. Hurst; great grandchildren Christopher Geisler, Savannah Geisler, and Jordan Kier; and a great great granddaughter Audrey Geisler.
Services will be held on Saturday October 21, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery located at 4300 Beach Blvd. Jacksonville, Florida 32207.
