With heavy hearts we share the passing of Louise Appler Moore on March 9, 2026 at the age of 94. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, December 25, 1931 and affectionately known to her Maryland family as “Snookie”.
Louise eventually moved to Florida where she lived most of her life. She graduated from St. Paul’s Catholic School, where she met the love of her life, Louis Moore. After graduation, Louis served in the Navy and fought in the Korean Conflict. Upon his return home, they married. In November they celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary.
Louise’s life can be defined by her love and devotion to her beloved husband, her family and to all she met. She volunteered at her children’s school cafeteria, was their home room mother and a Scout leader.
Louise loved crafting, including flower arranging, ceramics, sewing, crocheting and knitting. She was a voracious reader. Her interest in cooking and baking led to an extensive collection of cookbooks.
She was loved by all who met her and is truly missed. Louise is survived by her loving husband, Louis; her daughters Melody and Tina (Rick); two grandsons, Troy and Trevor; sister-in-law, Virginia and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 18th at 11:00 a.m. at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Funeral Home Legacy Lodge.
