She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Nagy, her daughter Constance Rogalla (Jack), and her much loved two sisters and six brothers. Lucille is survived by her daughters Judith Ellsworth, Judith Crews (Phil), and Lynn Gallina (Tom); seven grandchildren John Rogalla (Sandy), Judy Rogalla, Joseph Gallina (Zoe), Adam Gallina (Morgan), Jennifer Pruett (Bobby), Phillip Crews (Jana), Kristin Rodi (Alex); 17 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren.
Lucille or "Lucy",as she was affectionately called, was born on January 19, 1918 in Honesdale, PA and grew up in Binghamton, NY as the oldest of nine children. She was blessed that her family, scattered as they may have been, always were connected and had a rollicking good time when the Myers family got together.
She moved to Jacksonville, FL in 1946. Lucy worked and retired from Winn Dixie after 20 years. After selling her home she moved to the Baptist Towers (now the Towers of Jacksonville) where she worked as a receptionist for almost 15 years. She loved the interaction with all the residents, always keeping tabs on their needs and greeting them with a smile. Of course, she was a favorite with the pets as they were taken out on their walks. They knew Miss Lucy had hidden treats to welcome them back!
The Order of the Eastern Star was an important part of Lucy's life and she was a lifetime member for 52 years. She was Past Worthy Matron of Arlington Chapter #222, Past Grand Representative to the State of Missouri, and thoroughly enjoyed her "road trip" travels and adventures representing the state of Florida. Lucy loved life, loved laughter, and made the world brighter for everyone that was blessed to be touched by her.
She reveled in family and was a great favorite of her "grands". Often she could be found on the floor playing games with them - which they somehow always won, of course! Lucy's family was always the most important to her after the love of the Lord, who she said had always been close and provided for her every need. Prayer and devotion to the Lord were ingrained in her daily life.
An energetic, fun loving nature that showed genuine care, hospitality, and generosity to those around her was shared with all who knew her. She always had time for anyone that needed a helping hand, a meal, or just a smile. She had a quiet and gentle spirit except for the few occasions where her fiery red hair got the best of her. Lucy was a woman of great strength, humility and love that her family adored.
In summation, Lucille Nagy loved well, very well and we were all very blessed to be on the receiving end of that love. Organizations that care and protect our most vulnerable children in need was something that Lucy had a keen appreciation for. To honor this, the family would request that in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to the Isaiah House 1:17, https://linktr.ee/Isaiah117housebakercofl, or mail to Isaiah 117 House 449 South 6th Street, Macclenny, FL 32063.
