

Lucille was born on August 11, 1936 and was raised in New Rochelle, New York. She met Roy Alexander Sherrer, Sr. and they were married in New Rochelle, New York in 1957. Roy and Lucille moved to various cities in Alabama and Florida, eventually settling in Jacksonville, Florida in 1967. Lucille was kind, thoughtful, generous and a woman who deeply loved her husband and family. She was always energetic and ready to move on to her next task. Which usually entailed many at the same time. Lucille dedicated her life in taking care of others, whether they were her patients in the hospital, a friend in need, a four legged furry animal, her husband, her children and her grandchildren. Always placing everyone’s needs before her own. She balanced her nursing career working the night shift at St.Vincent’s Hospital for 30 years and always being involved in her children’s activities. Sacraficing sleep to be a room mother, clinic volunteer, den mother, chuck wagon lady and visiting elderly in nursing homes. She always found the time to attend dance recitals, softball games, wrestling matches, football games, motor cross races and any important family events. She had a big heart that touched many lives.
Lucille is predeceased by her father and mother: Victor James Tozzo and Anna Marie Miarado Tozzo.
She has four (4) siblings: Vincent Tozzo; Marianne Tozzo Vileno; and Victor Tozzo.
Bill Pellegrino Tozzo is the only surviving sibling. Lucille is survived by her husband; Roy Sherrer, Sr. and her two (2) children: Roy Alexander Sherrer, Jr. and Marcella Sherrer Mickler. As well as six (6) grandchildren: Colin, Lindy, Austin, Alexandria, Victoria and Anthony. Lucille has three (3) great grandchildren: Jordan, Easton and Olivia.
There will be a visitation service on Tuesday, February 23rd from 6:00 pm to 8:00pm at Hardage-Giddens Edgewood Funeral Home located at 729 South Edgewood Avenue, Jacksonville, FL 32205. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 24th at 11:00 am, followed by a luncheon at Hardage-Giddens Edgewood Funeral Home at 729 South Edgewood Avenue, Jacksonville, FL 32205. The graveside service will follow at Jacksonville Memory Gardens located at 111 Blanding Blvd. Orange Park, FL 32073 Wednesday afternoon.
