Our beloved Luis Muñoz passed away at age fifty on January 2, 2021 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born on July 14, 1970, in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico where he graduated from the Immaculate Conception Academy. He received a masters degree in Finance from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico. Luis worked at Maxwell House Coffee Company for more than seven years where he focused on finance. Luis is survived by his parents Luis and Miriam, his sister Camill and his niece and nephews. He was known for his sense of humor and his larger than life personality. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed kayaking, biking and camping, but most of all he was known for his amazing salsa dancing skills and his not so great karaoke skills. Many friends describe him as the life of the party, always trying to make everyone have a good time. We will always remember him driving around in his convertible Miata with his scarf and beret. He had a dream of retiring at the end of 2021 to spend more time with his mother, manage an Airbnb and travel the world. Traveling was one of his newest passions. Recently he had travel to Spain, France, Italy, London, Mexico, the BVIs, Dominican Republic and the list was growing. Luis was a good brother to his sister, a great son to his parents and the most loyal friend imaginable. There are no words to describe the immense void left in our hearts because of his early departure. He will be missed by many.
A special mass will be held in his honor at 2:30pm, Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church in Jacksonville, Florida. His ashes will be transported to Puerto Rico. Funeral plans in Puerto Rico to be announced by his family at a later date if possible.
