

Magda Mallis passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, February 17, 2013. Born in Hungary on May 21, 1952, she then immigrated to New Jersey in 1957 and then moved to Jacksonville in 1978 from Middlesex County in New Jersey. She was employed for ten years by the St. Johns Sheriff s office as a Records Specialist and was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Magda had a kind and generous heart and would always go out of her way to help somebody in need.
Magda is survived by her mother, Maria Kozo; husband of 40 years, John Mallis; children, Frank, Tony and Jennifer Mallis; brother, Miki Kozo; sister, Maria Pinto and 2 one year old grandchildren, Ariella and Gavin Mallis.
Visitation with family and friends will be held Thursday, February 21, 2013 from 6:30 -8:30 p.m. at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, February 22nd at St. Joseph s Historic Catholic Church, 4214 Loretto Road. Interment will follow at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville.
